The Story of Survivor
Back in 1994, a tournament angler named Robert Idzikowski knew how important it was to keep fish alive — not just for the fish, but to avoid losing weight at weigh-in due to dead fish penalties. So, he got to work on a design that could solve the problem. At the time, anglers struggled to keep water and oxygen circulating in their livewells while running on plane.
After about a year of testing and refining, the Survivor was born and ready for the market. Around that same time, I was just getting my start as a boat rigger at Cedar Lake Sales. Robert showed me his invention, and I knew right away I had to put it to the test myself.
The Survivor was the real deal. It worked exactly like he said it would, and I’ve run one on every boat I’ve owned since.
Fast forward 30 years, and Robert was ready to retire. He gave me a call, knowing my passion for boats, fishing, and helping people get the most out of their time on the water. He offered me the chance to take over Survivor, and there was no way I could turn it down.
The Survivor does more than just keep your fish alive. It helps prevent pumps from air-locking, keeps bait alive longer, and makes sure your catch stays healthy all day. After 33 years in the boat rigging business and 25 years fishing walleye tournaments, I can tell you — there’s no better way to keep water flowing in your livewell on the move than with the Survivor.
This isn’t a gimmick — it’s peace of mind for people who care about their catch.
